The Judy Thompson Hugs Society has been set up in memory of Judy Thompson who sadly passed away in July 2008. Judy and her husband Richard have been heavily involved in the local community since moving to the northern suburbs in 1984.
Judy was well know for her big hugs, this is where we came up with the inspiration for JudyThompsonHugs Society. Judy was involved with the local primary school for over 20 years both in a volunteer capacity and professional employment capacity. She had a passion for helping others and came in contact with many families in need.
Judy and Richard involved themselves in the local community in many ways, one of which was making Christmas hampers and donating them to families who were facing hard times. Since Judy's passing her family and friends have continued making Christmas hampers with the generous support and donations from friends, family and the wider community.
The JudyThompsonHugs Society has donated between 30 and 60 hampers each Christmas since 2007, distributed to families in need.
